Hello all! So I am going for a ski holiday on the 1st of februari to Italy - Val Di sole, it's around Trente in the Mountains ofcours..

* Is it possible to fly there save and legal with my spark?

* I have seen that I can fly:
< 70m high
Line of sight 200m
Not above public, so not on ski track?

* Any Apps with best no fly zones in Italy?
Links with regulations?
Should I ask the owner of the ski area?

All info is welcome! Grtz from Belgium

Location:
Val di Sole
38020 Pellizzano, Trente, Italië20181116_193420.jpg

I don't know anything about flying in Italy but I have never seen red batteries for the Spark. Very different.

I see that you are right in that they were painted. Not a bad idea for the sake of visibility.

Hi! I’m from Trento area but I’m a drone owner since 2 weeks. The rules that you find are right, as not professional pilot you can fly at maximum 70m altitude and 200m distance, you can’t fly over people and you must have a visual contact with the drone.
So theoretically fly on ski resort over people skiing is forbiten. I remember few years a go a drone fall down close to a skier during a race in Madonna di Campiglio and I think that episode influenced our law and for sure is in mind of people taking care ski resort.

Thanks for your reply!

So if there are less people, I can fly with a safe distance of other skiers? At max 70m high...

Should I ask the people who own the place? How strict are people for drones there?

And yeah, I think I saw the video of the drone crashing.

Great to know some locals. Let me know if the situation for drones change :)

Best app to be sure where you can fly in Italy is Italian Airspace Pro. You'll find there that you are not allowed to fly at Madonna di Campiglio/Val di Sole because it is inside a natural park. Enjoy your skiing!

Thanks for the info!

The app is 9.99€? I won't buy that for 8 days... How are people about drones there?

Because i maybe will try it out, just not in heavy crowded area :)

To fly to Italy with your "Red" Spark, I think it is better that you first read the regulation of the Italian Civil Aviation Authority (ENAC). In addition to the professional uses, the rules regulating recreational flight are also included in the text.
here is the link

https://www.enac.gov.it/sites/default/files/allegati/2018-Lug/Regulation_RPAS_Issue_2_Rev_4_eng.pdf
Droni | Ente Nazionale per l'Aviazione Civile (If you know italian...)

For the maps you can use the D-Flight site (controlled by ENAC) for which there is not yet an APP but you can save the link on your smartphone. It works well but only shows areas.

https://app.d-flight.it/#/
https://www.d-flight.it/en (Unfortunately, the excellent guide that allows you to extricate yourself in the tangle of Italian rules is not yet translated into English)

Another APP that you can also use by connecting it with DJIGO and your Spark is AIRMAP. You can find the forbidden, regulated areas and all the main news and notices.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.airmap.airmap

For any other information or help, all you have to do is ask. I wish you the best descents on a beautiful snow.

Just curiosity, do you have a red drone? If so, can you send a pick of how it looks with the red battery?
Good question, about the visibillity when i fly in snow.. I have just a White top body and 2 Red batteries, 1 is standard.

I will get a sticker soon! Just for fun but also easier to see if I crash it one day.. (I hope not!) any recommendations for stickers? 20181209_162836.jpg20181209_162906.jpg1544369528978.jpg
