Gimbal won't auto level...my first crash!

So, follow up question: does the gimbal move freely when the spark is powered down? Or is it kind of locked in position? I am asking because it still seems to have an issue when it is powered down, but when I power it on and it connects to the controller, it moves freely and the camera stays...

Gimbal won't auto level...my first crash!

It was devastating to hear it as it tried to recover and then tumble all the way down that tree. When I looked at the tablet and saw the camera was still on, it made me feel a bit better but I just knew it was going to be trashed. Overall got really lucky.

Gimbal won't auto level...my first crash!

Pics of the carnage. Overall I will have to replace 3 sets of propellers. One was sheared off, but two others had fractures through them. I was able to wipe the body down and it looks as good as new. It landed in a soft leaf pile, the creek was 10' away.

Gimbal won't auto level...my first crash!

I'll give that a shot. I changed out two propellers and fired it back up. It's dark now so I can't really take it out to test, but the gimbal will roll up and down, but not as smoothly as before. It will hang for a sec and then continue it's adjustment. Still no auto level side to side...

Gimbal won't auto level...my first crash!

Makes sense. I haven't tried that yet as I have just been cleaning it up. I guess there's a possibility it could "auto correct" but I just know previously that when I tilted the Spark side to side you could see the gimbal stay level, which it doesn't do now. I'll try that here in a few and...

Gimbal won't auto level...my first crash!

Well it happened today; I had flown over a tree line, and was trying to bring the Spark back when it caught a tree branch I thought it was above. It was well within my VLOS. It tumbled and then recovered briefly, but then drifted into another branch and I watched as it tumbled the full 60'...

My Spark Was Attacked By A Swarm Of Bees

Yeah I would have been very concerned about bringing the drone, and thus the swarm, down to ground level. Might have redirected that bee attack towards you!

My first week with the Spark!

Hey in one of your shots you have it just above ground level, moving away from you and then it goes off the cliff. It looks like it drops slightly when it goes off the edge. I thought I remembered from the manual or somewhere it says you should avoid launching from somewhere with a sudden...

    OTG cable for a tablet?

Maybe this? O'woda Micro USB to Micro USB OTG Cable 11.4inch Nylon Braided Data Cord Video Transfer Connector for DJI Mavic Pro/Mavic Pro Air/Spark https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076WX64RF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_06anCb7H0WD8H

    OTG cable for a tablet?

When I search for Android OTG cable, there are several different types that pop up with different connector types on the end. Is the RC an OTG type, and I need the other end to be Micro A?

    OTG cable for a tablet?

I've been using the included OTG cable for connection from the Spark's RC to my Samsung phone. I have a 10" Samsung tablet I'd like to use in place of the phone if possible. But I would need a slightly longer OTG cable because of the larger tablet. I think the DJI RC is a USB Micro A, and my...

Nice! Could see you and the Spark in the reflection just briefly :) Any issues flying indoors with no GPS?

Drone X Pro, dji mavic pro look-alike rocking it...

So this is the drone that someone bought me for Christmas; it really is a fun little drone to fly. Ultra lightweight, very small, easy to get into the air. Of course being a very inexpensive drone, here are the downsides: -Around 7 minute flight time -No GPS so it drifts almost immediately on...
