Abandoned Meat Factory in Dniepr

Here in the Midwest USA, we have our share of dairies and processing facilities that come and go as well.

The farmland is turning into housing communities as the times change.

Thanks for sharing.

It seems naive to dissociate the impact of 'public health studies' about the radiolologic state of the Dneiper river basin , which drains the Chernobyl event area to the Black Sea, from the closure of the meat packing facility and the perception of health safety in various potentially affected places following the Chernobyl event. Two radionucleotides (Cs137- cesium 137, Sr90-Strontiun 90) each with a half-life of about 30 years probably take center stage.

Also:
'Two disposal sites operated by the RADON State enterprise at Kiev and Dnipropetrovsk. These sites handle both radioactive waste and spent radiation sources from the non-nuclear power plant sector, including the industrial, medical and agricultural sectors.'
