That sculpture is made out of steel - right? Did you get any alarms flying close to it? Any objections from those around you?

no alarms, no objections. (I chose the back of the sculpture to avoid the people)

I've never seen a transporter bridge before. Wonder why that was better than a regular fixed bridge? Allows ships to pass?

yep, years ago the River Tees was thriving with shipbuilding, ship repair and general trade shipping. The neighbouring Newport Bridge, on the same river, could raise and lower to let ships pass.
