Can I keep the spark powered up on an external power source with an OTG cable (auxiliary power, to use an aviation expression) while swapping the batteries, so all systems remain powered up and flight can be resumed immediately without re-connection and compass calibration? Of course, turning the depleted battery off before removing and after OTG connection, and new battery on after mounting before OTG disconnection.

- turning battery off will turn off the Spark regardless if plugged in thru the micro USB, meaning you will need to reconnect once turned back on again. FYI - I recommend not calibrating the Spark if all you're doing is changing the battery to continue flying (...and if not prompted to calibrate in the App).

I'm not at home but you can try the following since this is not addressed directly in the manual: try connecting the micro USB without a battery, nothing will happen I'll bet, right? So, if no automatic power up with external power/micro USB connection and there is no battery/no power up button, then there is only one power line/bus (then conclusion: there is no secondary power distribution and impossible to keep Spark on during a battery swap). - this sounds logical but may not be true, anyone else?
