The answer is yes.
But iPad Mini2 will be very sluggish (wife and son has one and I tried it)

Recommend iPad Mini4 or iPad 5th gen.
thank you very much...... I will do that......
I was thinking of googles.....but for now I will go the ipad.....and 4 or 5..........I for sure want more surface to fly with.

have a great night...

Well, me and a friend still using iPad mini2
(WiFi+Cellular) without any problems or
video loss/freeze.
But..: Still on IOS 11, all removable apps
were deleted and a good "switch-off" of
many unnecessary functions in the settings.
All resources free for DJI GO 4, it still work very fine.

* you dont need the cellular on the mini to use it do you?

just the wifi..... because i go airplane mode when i fly with my 8plus.

am i correct....that just a ipad mini 2 with wifi will work?

thanks very much

I'm using a mini 4 with cellular but no sim installed. The reason is so I have GPS and map location will work.

Even without sim card, iPad mini 2-3-4 wifi+cellular
have integrated GPS and use their 3G/LTE
capabilities to track cell towers and pinpoint

the position, what is call A-GPS(assisted).
When I fly in a new area, I still connect the
iPad, by wifi, to my iPhone just to assure that I have
the map template(background) of this area. Then I
switch-off wifi on iPad and switch-on airplane mode on iPhone.
And yes an iPad mini2 wifi only will work. Just
be sure no other apps are open
