Having deliberated over a Mavic or Spark for a few weeks, I eventually decided on a Spark. As I’m not CAA qualified I felt that a Mavic would be overkill if I couldn’t use the footage commercially (I’m in film production business).

So I went for the Spark, feeling that it was more portable and I could have a bit more fun with more discretion, without too much fear if I lose it! I can always upgrade when the Mavic Pro 2 comes out if I get into it.

Having dabbled in RC heli’s a little (beginner), I did find the Spark incredibly easy to fly. I’m really impressed overall, first impressions are...

Signal between remote and drone is a bit iffy, probably because I’m in the EU.

Picture isn’t as good as I’d hoped, but maybe the conditions have been a bit too challenging - Low sun at this time of year is tricky for the best of cameras.

It handles the wind very well for its size.

Takes a while to acquire GPS.

FYI - Got the flymore combo for £479 from Scan in the UK.
