Been thinking about how to involve friends and family to have some fun with my drones (Spark/Mavic)
Also possibly ways to use them when flying solo also. I often fly in the same location due to time and convenience and there is only so many photos/videos to be had in the same place.

I know there is a game app you can play with the Mavic (not sure about Spark), and have played that but it is more about just concentrating on the screen and not really on the drone.

Just wondering if anyone has come up with any ideas for ways to use the drone for a small group in open space just to have fun.

One possible is to flatten some old cardboard boxes for landing pads, place them around the field and everyone has to fly a course doing a touch and go on each, see who can do it the fastest. Needs to be fairly open area so everyone can see the drone the whole time with maybe a audible timer to build the excitement.

So, open area no safety or drone law issues, flying for fun. What would you do??

There is a game app in the stores called DronePrix AR.

I haven't tried it yet but it looks neat.

It puts a virtual track in the air that you can see on your device that allows you to fly your drone though the track and collect coins along the way.

Yes, that is the one I mentioned.

How about a bunch of Hula Hoops.

Mount with dowel rods and zip ties both vertically and horizontal.

I use a 10' piece of 1/2" electrical conduit with a flag on top to practice my orbital shots around a fixed object.

I'd be concerned about letting somebody else fly the Drone through obstacles.
Heck, I barely trust myself.

The landing pads are a good idea.
Maybe color them different for different goals?

Maybe something with playing cards or dice?

Some great ideas, thanks.

I have been increasingly thinking lately that if I could get over the fear, there is a lot more that could be done to have fun with these machines.

I am thinking max height 30-40 feet on grass.

Seems such a waste to use them just for photos/video and seeing how high/far we can go.
