Okay so I’m going to order the MavMount 2.0 to use with my iPad mini 4 LTE. I would like to be able to keep my iPad in the Smart Cover + silicon case while flying. Should I opt for the larger case clamp or stick with the one their site has listed for the mini? Is the clamp they sell what you guys use, or do you recommend using a different clamp with the MavMount?

We've always been using MavMounts with this Universal Clamp when using iPads which provides quite a bit of flexibility...and is cheap and seems to hold up. We had these laying around from previous mounting rigs we used with iPads and they do the job.

Don't have a better picture right now but here is the iPad on MavMount on the Spark RC with one of these Universal Clamps.

MavMounts are IN STOCK and ready to ship. You'll find them here: Tablet & CrystalSky Mount for Spark Remote Controller. As always, orders placed by 4PM PT ship same day M-F.

Give us a shout if you have any further questions. Safe flying!

Just got my MavMount. Unfortunately the clamp it came with will not allow me to keep my iPad mini Smart Cover on.

Thats one darn expensive sunscreen!

To the OP - I use a hoodman sunshade. One thing with it is its not easy to reach the screen as its a complete "box" shape. They make a slot in the bottom with some material so you can slip your hand in there but its conveneint.... But of all the ones I've looked at it seems to be the best quality, easiest to mount up and stays on your device... I've got a Hoodman for my Ipad Mini 4, Ipad Air 2, and even my Iphone...

If money is no object, purchase a CrystalSky 7.85 and you won't need a sunscreen :)
