Hi, I am trying to fix some DJI Spark drones with bad GPS boards, which cause
following error - Navigation System Error - check redundancy state, same error
is when GPS board is disconnected from main board.

Serial output console show only garbage at all standard baud rates - that mean
communication is garbage or is encrypted, but more likely boards are dead
for unknown reason.

Does anyone have experience, what could be bad with these GPS boards ?
All were involved in a crash, one have cracked GPS antenna. No other
visible damage.

There is strange metal object near GPS antenna and metal shielding -
is this a battery ? There is + mark on top, but meter show no voltage.

Of course one solution is to replace GPS boards - but I want to know
what is wrong with these modules, and if possible, fix it.

Hello from the Mid-West.

Looks like you have your hands full.
Sorry, I can't help you but there are others here that may.

Welcome to the Forum.

Hi, thanks for welcome on this forum.

That round thing is battery for sure, I disassembled my working drone and it shows 85mV.
There is 0V on dead boards.

If dead battery is a cause, it will explain all new Sparks with same problem - they only
sat in warehause too long and were delivered with dead battery od GPS boards. it will
also explain garbage on serial output of GPS board.

Now question is, which battery should be soldered there and what voltage it should
provide.

And second question is - is it possible to buy just GPS antenna to replace cracked one ?

Looks like we found another DJI design fault.

If not used, there are crystals forming which short the battery.

Therefore not using Spark means GPS board battery will become bad,
GPS board will not communicate with main board, causing Navigation system error.

So, this battery is rechargable - there is 90mV on battery contacts
provided by the drone.

Still don't know where to buy new one, diameter is around 3.7mm and unknown
voltage and capacity.

I disconected my drone GPS board spark in a shell replacement, after reconnecting, I receive the message "
Navigation System Error - Check Redundance".

there was no damage to the board, does anyone know of any solutions?
