Hi everyone. Finally bought myself a Spark today having flown one (happily) about 12 months ago. I also owned an Airdog v1 back in the day before a friend crashed and sunk it. I have a camping trip coming up at the end of April and wanted to be able to get some aerial videos of the kids and camp sites between Adelaide and Perth on the Nullarbor Plain.

My main concerns right now are understanding how the editing works in the DJI app. I’ve been using GoPro Quik for ages now and get really good results. What’s the best way to get my “original” HD clips off the drone ?

Hello and welcome to SparkPilots. The DJI editor uses the cache videos stored on the phone to make some small auto edited movies. There is also a free form mode where you can manually edit but I have never been able to make it work with HD videos recorded on the SD card. The simply keeps crashing when I try to use it with the full HD videos. Most of the people download the SD card videos to their computer with the help of a card reader/adapter and edit using video editing software. A few popular ones worth mentioning are Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro, Da Vinci Resolve, Wondershare Filmora. You have to check the system requirements yourself to find out which one suits you.
