So I have the necessary OTG cable but, have issues using it. I connect the cable from phone to RC and turn on both aircraft and RC. However, they connect via wifi and when I turn the wifi off I lose connection. What is the proper steps by step???

Disconnect the Wi-Fi before connecting the cable to the remote controller. If DJI GO does not show it's connected, then try removing and reinserting the OTG cable.

This is what I did and it worked.

1.) Turn on the copter
2.) Turn on the RC
3.) OTG cable into the RC
4.) Plug the Apple charging cable into the OTG
5.) Plug Apple charging cable into iPhone
6.) Open up DJI Go 4 App and copter viewing screen should open up.

Wifi was completely off during this process. You can also try and leave the wifi on then disconnect but I did it both ways and it worked flawlessly.

Hope this helps?

What i do

Spark on
RC on
Wait for green light on RC
Turn iPhone on but leave app closed
Airplane mode off
Plug otg cable into iPhone
Plug otg cable into controller
Phone beep, shows accessory not supported
Open the app

If app is open it before connecting otg it won't work.
Today I tried connecting the cables into the remote and into the phone, and then connect the cable together and it didn't work. Unplugged and replugged csble on RC and it worked fine.

Ive been available to see the green light then I connect the OTG to phone and aircraft. When app starts it never connects... I have a Motorola phone.

Ive had simular issues connecting, trying Android, and Apple, seems the i phone connects better. Android for some reason doesnt work as well.

I connect OTG every time no issues by doing the following:
1- turn off phone / tablet wifi
2- turn on RC
3- turn on spark
4- wait for light to go green on RC, then plug in micro usb into RC
5- open DJI Go 4
6- connect OTG to phone / tablet.
