Beautiful.

I think my landing technique would be the same as standing on the ground, fly it up to myself and reach out and take it. I'd have to reach with my left 'cause I'd have to keep it moving with the right stick.

Easiest safest way I found was to reverse it in and grab it, quick twist kills the motors

Yes backing in is the best. Collision protection does not complain about you being so close.

My first take off I hit the back stay and my spark wobbled in the air over the water and then stabilized. Whew.

Like you vid, spark gives such amazing perspectives. Seems to me gusts are the enemy as they knock the drone around in the sky too much for the gimbal to cope with.
If I had hit the backstays that would have ended my fly / sail adventure- you are braver than me !!
