I ended up building my own too. My iPad has a PIVOT case, and I didn't want to remove it in order to use a off the shelf mount. It's balanced very well and removes easily.

Hit Dronie button again, distance slider will show on the bottom of the screen.

I'm getting Compass Error all the time now, and failure when recalibrating. I'm going to contact DJI Monday and see if tech support can help. It seems to connect to GPS just fine, and fly normal, but I'm not going to try flying indoors in this condition.
