I kind of had the same thing happen to me at the beach this week, I'm using same phone. The app crashed a few times while in flight, and I lost reception to the spark at about 500 feet away, it may have been some cellular antenna near where I was flying? I am using the RC and otg cable.

Tomorrow I'll try all that, let's see what happens. I've also read some pilots recommend clearing the video cache, and turning off audio.
