Spark and Litchi - not quite same experience

The Spark's obstacle avoidance only works the distance of a TV remote so unless you are going super slow it is useless.

    Spark Crash!

You were under attack the whole flight; immersed in the DJI goggles, you probably didn't even realise. I'm sympathetic to you because I know that looking at the screen does not always show wobbles like this, depending on the refresh rate of the connection. I have never seen a bird in my screen...

Spark and Litchi - not quite same experience

Thanks for letting us know. One question I have is: were these problems in the beta too? Thanks

SPARK LONG RANGE WORLD RECORD - 5.262m.

How did you do that ? Even with reflectors, mine hit a max of 2.2km

    Litchi Limitation

Where can you get the beta version? So does that mean a Spark version with waypoints and bezier curves will come out in the App Store soon? Can you set the speed to be 50kmph or is it limited to non sport speed with obstacle avoidance? Does it calculate battery usage as you set the waypoints...

How did you release the line? I’d be worried it would get tangled and take the Spark down into the sea.

    Video Jerkiness

No, it’s not editing, it’s the camera getting the shakes relative to the ground. It seems to be caused by wind and yes it does happen occasionally. The tilting (roll) that happens in sport mode is also something different. The fact that the gimbal is 2-axis isn’t really the cause (the missing...

    FAA studies falling drones.

I have decided to use a rubber band as a secondary safety measure. Whether you use a rubber band or a purchased plastic clip, I wouldn't fly with faulty battery clips because sole reliance on these items is far too risky. Batteries with faulty clips should be returned to DJI so they can learn...

    FAA studies falling drones.

Rubber bands will stop the batteries from falling out, but a single motor failure, wire failure, esc, failure, software failure will still have the little brick falling out of the sky from up to 120m with no parachute.

    FAA studies falling drones.

I'm pretty sure DJI know.. they just have no solution yet.

    FAA studies falling drones.

I don't know who wrote this but it's a complete waste of time: 34 mph isn't the issue at all - it's the terminal velocity that is the issue. What happens if a Spark's battery clip pops off (as there are countless recorded incidences of) and it drops from 120m (or potentially higher) onto a...
