I have no experience with the Mini so can only comment on the Spark. It is still available at Walmart and Best Buy may have it. I bought mine second hand using the Let Go app. Many drones are posted for sale on Let Go, Offer Up, and Facebook sales. I got mine almost brand new with controller...

I like to fly along a creek on a greenway path. There are several sections and lengths of this greenway, some running parallel with high tension wires. The only time I experienced electromagnetic interference was at the same altitude as the wires and about 40 feet from them. I was not far away...

Did the OTG cable increase your range? I use a Samsung A-50 and the OTG cable drastically increased my range.

I have nothing to offer in reference to the light but not all of my motors twitch upon startup all of the time. So far I have not experienced any problems in flight.

My phone worked well with wifi but once I got my OTG cable my distance performed even better. It is said that IOS works better than android with these drones but I have now flown 2000 feet at 300 ft altitude until losing signal.
