What if you did the opposite and originally registered as a hobbiest - bot one drone and then another a year later and then got your 107 certificate? Do you need to pay another $5 and register your most used drone (the one you might use commercially) under 107?

I just called the township police that the school is located - let them know what I wanted to do and asked if they had any issue with my doing so during off hours. They seemed to appreciate my checking and had no issues. Also good for them to know in case someone called to complain.

Unfortunately it depends on your conditions. If dark background like treeline it helps by maybe a few hundred feet, but nothing le doing after dark.
