worth buying spark 2020 or mini

Haha - you obviously have no idea what your talking about. I currently fly an Autel EVO as I too wanted longer battery life, better camera, and no flight restrictions that DJI constantly has. Not a DJI fanboy, but fully appreciated the quality entry level drone the Spark was (as is the...

worth buying spark 2020 or mini

No the spark doesn't have the same range as the mini or the battery life, but with a $6 parabolic dish you slide over your antenna you can get 2.5 to just under 3 miles away and back 5.5+ miles round trip in sport mode (done it and recorded it - lots of yt posts that show it). The spark can...

    Fly backwards in Litchi

You can do it with Drone Harmony - but I think it only works with Android (not positive on that).

What is your best distance run with your Spark.

Won't repeat again but went 14,588 ft over water and then back - landed with 2% battery in tank.

Which strobo LED do you use?

I use 3 Strobon Cree lights (red, green, white). I purchased inexpensive landing skids and then cut down to just stubs for weight and drag reduction - then used Scotch 3M fasteners to attach the strobes to the landing gear. This way I can use the gear at night with strobe lights attached or...

    107 Certificate

I went ahead and registered my EVO under part 107 and left my Spark registered as hobbiest. Got my 107 this past summer.

    107 Certificate

What if you did the opposite and originally registered as a hobbiest - bot one drone and then another a year later and then got your 107 certificate? Do you need to pay another $5 and register your most used drone (the one you might use commercially) under 107?

    Night flight: What's the deal?

Ok I did call my local FSDO out of Philadelphia, PA and he would not give me a yes or no answer, but referred me to follow local based community rules if flying as hobbiest in class G airspace (like AMA). Per those rules you can fly at night using proper anti- collision lighting in class G...

    Night flight: What's the deal?

So this is also a hot topic on the Autelpilots.com forum that im on as well. Several responded that they called their local FSDO and I quote "Just got off the horn with my FSDO in SLC. They said the same thing. Non-certificated UAS operators do fall under 107 and are prohibited from night...

(SOLD) Alpine White Spark with 5 batteries, Remote and many extras (reduced to $399)

Finally selling my 2nd Spark after purchasing an Autel EVO this past summer. Not a ton of use on this one as I just purchased last Christmas as replacement for one I lost. I then got the EVO in June 2019 and have not flown the Spark again since then. I've kept up with battery maintenance and...

    Drones and school property

I just called the township police that the school is located - let them know what I wanted to do and asked if they had any issue with my doing so during off hours. They seemed to appreciate my checking and had no issues. Also good for them to know in case someone called to complain.

    Night Flying

Unfortunately it depends on your conditions. If dark background like treeline it helps by maybe a few hundred feet, but nothing le doing after dark.

    Night Flying

Once I cut the landing gear down added weight makes very little difference and very little drag.

    Night Flying

I do a decent amount of night flying as a hobbyist in the US - it's legal as a hobbyist in the US. I use 3 rechargeable Strobon Cree strobe lights from Amazon, mounted on cheap landing gear (I remove for day flights). I cut the skids off since the photo below to save weight and drag when...
