It's completely autonomous. The mission is uploaded to the drone at the start and it then proceeds irrespective of whether the remote controller is within range or not.

I can confirm that waypoints is working nicely on Litchi using the Spark. You just need to sign up as a beta tester on their website to get the beta version as the waypoints for Spark is still in the beta release.

Agreed. I've made a very high resolution composite image from about 100 images with the drone at 80m above ground level, but flying the drone in perfect flight lines isn't easy. So I would really appreciate it if DJI will add waypoint mode for the Spark.

Install DJI Assistant 2 for your PC, plug your drone in and you should get a few options. Can't exactly check now as my drone is in for checks, but it allows you to transfer the recent flight logs from your drone to your PC and save it as a .dat file which DJI can inspect.
