    How hard is the test??

I'll second the reference to DonDronesOn on YT. Great information and well presented. You really have to know the section 900 of the Canadian aviation regs...CAR for short. My friends and I were surprised how difficult the basic exam was. Without some effort and study, most will not pass the...

    Signal strength beyond 200meters

I set a distance limit of 150m and 75M altitude for my spark for two interrelated reasons. First....In Canada we have to fly within VLOS...visual line of sight...and my old eyes can see the dot still generally well at about 150M. Did that through testing...ie how for out before I lost visual...

Master airscrew release props for the Spark

Just asking a semi rhetorical question because in the other mavic forum, folks were talking about the warranty being void using MA props on the AIr. I wonder how they would know....and the only thing I can hypothesize is that the data from the flight logs would indicate whether they were non...

Master airscrew release props for the Spark

Would using these MA props void your warranty?

dji go and Galaxy Tab A

I use the same dji go 4 app on the Samsung tab A without issue. When it comes up, I just keep selecting past the pro (the little downward facing triangle just past the Mavic 2 in the photo) until the spark comes up. Then select enter device.

Is Air Magic worth it? Help me decide.

I'm another happy airmagic user. Like somebody else hear alluded to, I don't have the time, patients, and brains for the more detailed software enhancement. I am happy with how it more often than not, corrects the colour and improves the image.here are some resized images

    Flyaways

Thank you for your reply. Almost all of the first dozen flights were under 30 meters with no issue, Flew it yesterday...same spot...worse wind conditions, similar profile, altitudes between 10 and 50 meters...absolutely no glitches, issues, and indeed got some great video and photos....so...I am...

Have any of my Canadian spark family written the Transport Canada exam?

Ok, there are some misconceptions here. I did my basic back in early May and just finished my advanced exam and flight review...so I am fully qualified by TC as a professional RPAS pilot. That is what they tell you and expect you to perform piloting in a professional manner. There is no longer...

    Flyaways

After a dozen flights without a glitch on my new sparkie over the last month, I had two flyaways in one day with sparkie. The first dozen flights were back east and when I returned to the west coast, the first thing I did was recalibrate the IMU and compass. All looked fine. Took sparkie out...

What do new UK drone rules mean for Spark?

The spark with battery is closer to 300gr. Here in Canada, because it's over 250gr it has to be registered. It's an easy process, but cost 5 dollars for each machine you register. Also, you have to clearly display it's registration number on the machine. I would imagine it will be similar in...

Your purchase of a DJI Spark

The portability. So much easier to travel with especially by air. It has a lot of tech for a small and inoffensive drone. The video and photo's are acceptable and because of it's small size, seems to attract less attention from john Q nosypublic.

    Thanks...that could be the ticket!

    tablets thoughts: Apple or Android

I have been trying out several tablets to find out which one is best suited to me. I have been using the Samsun Tab A without issue, and my Nvidia shield K1. Both run DFI go 4 without issue but I have been favouring the Tab A over the K1. Booth have a mini hdmi port which is nice if you're using...
