Drone travel on plane? Carry on or checked?

I frequently travel throughout Europe with my drone(s). I checked the procedures carefully before I travel, but I've not had any major problems. It varies from airline to airline, but for most of the EU, you can carry up to four LIPO batteries under 100 watt hours (For me, this is three Mavic...

Dji is suggesting shipping a damaged battery.

I am wondering, with the puffy battery, if the battery was maybe faulty and puffed *before* the crash. The crash was caused by the battery expanding and not making a good connection with the drone, so it lost power mid-flight. Either way I think DJI are insane for wanting to ship a battery in...

Spark Boosted Antenna Mods (my testing and results)

This is some great experimental data! Are you in an FCC or EC area?

    Nervous new Spark owner

A final thing: avoid iron or magnetic fields. They are sparky's kryptonite. The most important thing is to have fun. The Spark is a tough little bird and mine had a number of crashes in its early days (entirely due to pilot error), but she's still going strong. Extra propellers are a very good...

    I don't trust spark

Agreed. The DJI sales team do suggest that the Spark is idiot-proof and very easy to fly. Just like any drone, it has a learning curve. I do wonder how many people have a completely preventable flyaway in the first week of ownership.

    DJI GO 4 MOD 2.0 | DJI GO 4 MOD LITE [ Additional Features | Android | App Ver. 4.1.15 ]

For those of you who may be concerned, I've just checked the Google Drive version of the apk against my original download of it- and they check out as the same file :). Always worth being a little bit careful with phone tech. Please don't take offense, Mhinc, it's a standard test I do in these...

    Bluebell Woods in Cornwall, UK

Lovely video! Some expert piloting there in difficult conditions. How did you get such smooth panning shots? Mine are always a little jerky. Tripod mode? For those of you not from the UK, bluebell woods are a unique phenomenon to the British Isles. When the last ice age came through, most of...

    I don't trust spark

The Spark is a great little bird, but ironically it's actually harder to fly than its big brothers or sisters (are drones male or female?). The reason for this is that quite a bit of redundancy has been lost in order to reduce the price and size. Foremost of these is the compass. Unlike the...

POLL: Have you powered on your Spark with the gimbal lock attached?

I have the LEBRO lock and yep, forgotten to remove it several times. My little Hoverbee just complains about a gimbal motor overload. I remove the gimbal lock and it forgives me like the little sweetheart it is.

    How Do I Fix This?

You can counter rotate your props by simply swapping the left and right props on each axle, looking from the front of the drone. They might be hard to put in place, but you need to press down firmly until you hear a metallic cracking noise. Then you're good to go.

    Increase in Spark Fly Aways.......why?

This time last year, we had the same thing- a flush of Spark flyaways. I think we get them when we get the first good weather in the northern hemisphere after Christmas. I learnt to fly on a Spark, and by a cruel twist of fate, I now teach people the basics of flying drones. The very first...

Moved (Some idiot is going to ruin it for everyone...)

These drone fliers really infuriate me, as a amateur and (as of a month ago)professional drone pilot. They do the classic 'spoiling it for everyone'. Interestingly, the couple involved have been let off- it seems they had the wrong people. I had various friends and colleagues ask me for my...
