Conecting remote by jdi cable

Hi, help please. Have just purchased a spark and love it!! Am trying to connect jdi cable makes a connection but Go4 screen just flashes on my screen fast and will not let me click on it...am i doing something wrong or is it the cable? Thanks Steve
