Make sure you close any apps running in the background on iPhone. Video processing is done on the iPhone, not in the Spark. If you got other apps running it will slow down the video processing.

And there is no good reason to fly much further than that.

A lot of good advice here. I’m still in a learner mode and adding distance and altitude with each flight. I would add get very familiar with the GO4 app and how to read all the information on it. Also, learn how to fly using the map. When that little Spark goes a distance it’s hard to see...

I'm a little confused as if I need to do the firmware update to each battery (I have 3). I watched a YouTube video on the latest update and it said to do it with each battery. I did the 701 firmware upgrade with the first battery and everything upgraded smoothly. Installed the second battery...

Appears all the updates address fly away and crash issues that have been reported. An example being the new battery installation procedure to ensure it is mounted securely.

I had a similar disconnect yesterday. Flying with an iPhone 6s Plus and OTG. This happened 8 minutes into the flight. Lost camera feed and data from the Spark. I still had VLOS and RC control sticks still controlled Spark, so I was able to land.

Long Beach CA today from the Spark. Still working on my flying skills, mostly building confidence to fly higher and further distances. Today was flights 19-21 for me. Also working on video skills. Rudder movement/pans make for jerky video.

I got the fly more combo. Don't use the prop guards. Case was useless, already replaced it. But the multi battery charger, controller and extra battery are a must have.

I’m taking a similar approach with my Spark, I’ve had 2 weeks now. This is my first drone, so I’m taking it slow learning flying basics first, reading manual and watching videos. After 17 flights in beginner mode, yesterday I turned it off and started flying longer distances with more altitude.

I flew today with iOS11 and OTG, no issues.
