You had better luck than I did. My Spark did the same less than an hour out of the box. I didn't use RTH either. Mine not only flew away, it reset its home point deep in the forest where it tried to go. A big red cedar got in the way, and it roosted there for months before a storm blew it down.

You have to be persistent with DJI. I'm still wrestling with them for a refund for a defective Spark, new, less than an hour of flight time, flew away.. When you push hard, they'll start to pay attention. Don't let them off the hook.

I later (text continues beneath photo--couldn't fix) recorded screenshots of the flight path, and it shows the Spark arbitrarily relocated its home point twice, the second time in the forest. Even though I chose land in the current position, it chose to go to its third home point, in the red cedar.

My video feed failed when the Spark went into autonomous mode, and I was about 15-20 feet away before it took off on its own down the beach. I have the initial video record on the phone when I was cruising the beach under control. I wish I had the video when I had to jump out of the flight path...

There are enough of these reports, mine included, that it's clear to me that DJI either has major QC problems or a fundamental flaw in the software/hardware. Mine was brand new, less than an hour of flight time and ignored my commands to land at its current position. There are liability issues...

With less than an hour and four flights on my brand new Spark, it flew away, ignoring my command to land where it's at which was about 10 feet away from me. I kept it low, under 10 feet, and close by for "safety." It arbitrarily chose a new "home" and flew there while I fought it all the way...
