After Market Flight Software

So I have been reading about a couple of different after market flight software apps. I was wondering are they better the DJI Go, or is it just hype? Also are they easy to use and stable?

i know you can open dev tools & modify programming in the spark i got a max vertical speed of 21 mph & horizontal speed of 48.4 mph today !
