That is too cool! Glad you were able to get your drone back. What has become of it? Did you do an insurance claim? Spare parts? That looks like a regular fishing hook that was used to grab the 'injured' drone. Did you consider using a treble hook? Good job!

Well, it was not me that did the deed, I just posted the video after coming across it. However, I would certainly assist if I had a Zoom and someone was in need. I have used my Spark to find my toy drone several times, once it actually worked, but that was just aerial reconnaissance.

I knew this video would appeal here however...:cool:
 
Definitely worth the effort. Well done. Watched another similar rescue video on YT where a guy's drone went down atop a business' metal roof. The method was much the same, but the corrugated metal roof made it much more challenging and frustrating, taking many failed attempts to snag the errant drone. Persistence prevailed and they got it back. No doubt, the downwash from the rotors adds another element to be contended with.
