THE END OF DJI?

I don't think so. IMO this guy is just negotiating. Probably the Chinese products will come back with better conditions for the US

The problem with DJI is sending all flight and recorded data back to China. DJI is already banned from any US government or Defense installation. They may have to change their business model and revamp their software / firmware at some point or face a major roadblock to US sales.

Not quite, plenty of things satellites can't resolve due to grazing angles and satellites are so predictable it's pretty easy to conceal things. Soooo , no, anything above ground is not fair game and DoD will continue to ban DJI products. Expect even tighter controls. The real treat isn't to commercial aircraft, it's weaponized drones with explosives or other deadly or disruptive devices. Quite logical and already in use by ISIS and other terrorist, but you enjoy your thinking it's a conspiracy theory for the time being.
And of course there are actual events proving there are attacks by drone.

We’ve already seen this shift in insurgent warfare. In Iraq and Syria, ISIS commanders used footage from multiple drones to coordinate attacks on army bases.
Starting in 2016, ISIS employed Jerry-rigged drones to drop small bombs or crash into coalition forces in Iraq and Syria. In addition to conventional threats, US and NATO forces now have to worry about attacks from above. That's why we can't have nice things. That's why they are called terrorist.

Anything that sends US citizen's data to China is at risk. Kaspersky also got banned by US Gov for sending data to Russia. Best Buy stopped selling their products.

DJI could be next.

If we have a 12 minute war, count the sparks in. until the battery life gets longer, they may be sidelined.
Although, if you know your history, Perl Harbor planners were on the tourist boat tours snapping pictures ? so never discount something from having a way to be used against its designed purpose.

Doubt this will impact them much and if so, quite a few US Police departments across the land (and related Emergency Services) that have invested in DJI products and use them regularly will raise a ruckus if DJI gets targeted specifically. There are numerous places where DJI drones have made a difference in Police, Fire, and Search and Rescue Operations. They typically have better support and better features than non-Asian counterparts.

Besides, the FAA and EASA will soon be shifting to require telemetry from commercial drones at the Mavic level and upwards as they impact normal aircraft airspace more and more. They want to know where drones are when airborne for at least safety reasons. Having China know about that stuff *now* is not really a big deal since the long-term goals of the US and Europe will be similar.
