What do new UK drone rules mean for Spark?

Hi. I've just heard about new UK drone rules (or upcoming ones) about requiring us to register and pay a yearly fee for drone usage. I believe this is for drones over 250g which the Spark is just a little over. What does this mean for Spark pilots? Is there anyway to shave some weight off the Spark to get it under the 250g weight limit?

Do people think DJI will release a Spark 2 under the 250g limit?

I wonder how they came up with the 250 kg limit? Does it specify what has to be on the quad to be considered part of the 250 kg (like the battery) ?

The spark with battery is closer to 300gr. Here in Canada, because it's over 250gr it has to be registered. It's an easy process, but cost 5 dollars for each machine you register. Also, you have to clearly display it's registration number on the machine. I would imagine it will be similar in the UK.
