Thanks vlar I read though in another posting that when flying indoors there is a 16 ft height restriction. Maybe the other posting is not correct. So it does not explain why my spark would not climb above 3m when working out doors under the tree canopy but in atti mode.

My experience with gesture mode is too be very careful on sunny days cos if you point it at you with the sun behind you it is very possible it will loose contact with you simply because it is blinded by the light. It will just sit there until the battery gets low then do an rth
