RC will not charge
I just had the same and it would appear that the female socket where the cable plugs into got damaged whilst trying to plug the cable in last.You may want to inspect this part. Good luck- Michael Blackshaw

Cell towers
I would guess so. I have problems with interference when setting up in the car. I have to move a few feet away from it.- Michael Blackshaw
