I say get a Mavic Air or a discounted Mavic Pro. About the same price and capability. The new Mavic Pro will likely be around $1300. Keeping the Spark as a backup is a good move if you don't need the money to offset the cost of the new.

If they update the camera to 4K I think it would have a 3 axis gimbal. Sensor would not be able to do EIS for 4K and without stabilization the video would be garbage.

Quite honestly, it seems that you are perfectly happy with the Spark. It is a great drone and if it’s meeting your needs then why change? I would recommend, that unless there is a feature in the Mavic Air that is a “must” have then I would keep the Spark another year and see what the Mavic Air...
