And what about battery life? If on a Phantom we can rely on a relatively big battery, the flight time of the Spark is quite short already. Wouldn't a powerful led system shorten it even more?

To each its own: I purchased the equivalent package for my Phantom 3 and I use them really rarely. Surely I will not buy a set for the Spark, because the latter is used for social media imaging, hence not worth $150. There are people to whom spending a third of the quad's value in some filters...

Not really. The location of the aircraft determines the CE or the FCC protocol, hence the maximum range. You can try to use windsurfer antennas to increment your range, or fly in open locations...
