    Replacement, is it new ?

DJI confirms it has not been activated, and serial ends in 3H, not ML like my first. DJI Support can't tell me if it contains refurb parts, and they can't look up the part number BC.PT.S00285 to see if it is new. The liquid traces makes me wonder, and the scratches near USB port. Not sure if...

    Replacement, is it new ?

It had the stickers on 2x lense, not on the coated lenses below, which had fingerprints. Label not worn. I am trying to find out if it is factory new, or a refurbished (illegal here, I MUST get the equivalent of a factory new sales unit). BTW: There are clear stickers on the 2 lenses. In the...

    Battery got wet.

OK. I am mostly used to plain standard LiPo. And since the current draw can be pretty high (same here), power output is unrelated to the rest. Assume we can discharge the battery in 6 minutes full throttle, then it is 10C. So around 15A. But looking up, you can get pretty small 20A MOSFETs, so I...

    Battery got wet.

I would keep using the battery. I assume the 3S output is thick wires inside the battery, so it will continue to deliver power to the quad long time after the internal electronics are dead. But again, I fly safely, and if it drops out of the sky, that is what happens. I also use bad lipo cells...

    Replacement, is it new ?

Got my Spark replaced by local dealer. New serial number, but it does not look brand new to me. It came in the foam box I used to send it in. With my old stickers. But a sticker on the spark, put on with white painters tape, saying BC.PT.S00285 and then a barcode with serial and MADE IN CHINA...

    When to replace props?

On race quads, I replace them when they break or are giving me issues If I can bend them back in shape they are good for a few more minutes of fun. But race quads will crash most sessions, and if I lose a blade and the quad falls out of the sky it is not a problem. With the Spark, I will try to...

    Flyaways

IMU = Inertial Measurement Unit. Shows up/down and rate of turn. In principle a gyroscope. Calibration on other quads is just handheld. Giving it an idea about direction/orientation. You can then finetune it by changing angle if you want it to always fly forward in neutral. But it does not need...

    Downloading without battery

That is an option if you happen to bring the adapter or cardreader. But it will not charge the spark.

Vibrations in video - again on new replacement unit

Not sure what the jitter is, it could be from EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization) if that is part of the stabilization process. Do you have a frame grab where you can analyze it closer ? But we also have image resizing taking place Video is not a 1:1 crop, but likely closer to a scaling to...

    Stitching HDR sphere panoramas

I ALWAYS take the first shot away from sun, but it does not always give me good exposure of both ground and skies. Mostly you need 2 shots with 3EV stops or so between them to get a good balance.

    Flyaways

I trust GPS and RTH 100% in my drones and planes. So do many others. I am not afraid to fly missions way beyond video/tx signal range. It will come back, unless it as a mechanical error. Friend did a 120km autonomous there and return flight with a plane this summer (60+60km). Over open ocean...

    Downloading without battery

I figured out, that when the USB cable is connected to the quad, I get warnings on my phone app. It will not take off. Guess they added safety. So no big risk But, for some reason it will not charge the battery (half charged) on my computers USB 3.0 port. Guess it sees the data and elects to...

    Downloading without battery

Well, that is one design error as I see it, as powering it with a battery increases the risk of decapitated fingers.

    New Firmware v01.00.0700 imminent

Precision landing requires you to do vertical take off to 30ft (10m-ish) for the camera to get a good image of the landing position and surroundings. Need large area as GPS is not that precise. I have had mine trying to land 10+ meters away as well on pressing RTH. Just took over manul control...
