18500 batteries?

For a lot of Spark flyers, the Achilles heal is the battery, only lasting around 10/12 minutes from 1480 mah. The weight of this battery is 98 gms. There has been a few battery mods applied, that for a lot, does not give any real advantages due to weight increases. The 18500 li- ion battery is 2500 mah for a weight of 32 gms each! 96 grams for three, with the connector fitted, very little more! Has anyone tried using 18500 Li-ion batteries? If yes, what were the results?

Re post in modded group. I think you'll find that Li ion batteries can't provide the high current needed to run the motors.

The ones I use can chuck out 20 amps continuous 35 burst, what do the spark motors need?

Sure your batteries are Li po not li ion? The advantage of lipo over lion was weight and ouput vs lion.

Yes li-ion, look up the Samsung 20S 18650, that gives out 30 amp continuous. it’s for high drain devices, wether it’s suitable for a Spark, I don’t know.
