If you put 10,000 drone owners in a room you are going to have some bad actors.

They were flying"near" the stadium?

They don't know if a flying drone is "weaponized"?

There were helicopters flying? Under 400 feet altitude?

IF they get out of control? IF the operator ..., IF ..., IF?

What about if a helicopter is weaponized, or if a police helicopter gets out of control?

I'm not sure if those drones were flying illegally, but I think that ignorance and paranoia, together with stupidity of some authorities, are leading to stupid regulations.

Gatwick was crane lights in the fog and Teterboro still has not been confirmed as such.

*Just saw- 3 days leading up to was in a different TFR

Looking at the 9/5231 NOTAM details, it says it goes into effect tomorrow, Feb 3rd. . .what do you mean in your post referring to the "3 days leading up to. . ."? Just trying to determine if the drone operators "near" the stadium were wrongly harassed. . .thanks for posting.

That is what I was looking at too. Seems they have a shorter range TFR Thursday through tomorrow at 4pm.
Then it is a greater distance 4 - midnight

It is annoying how our government adds more laws without enforcing those that already exist and our politicians make laws without any education on the subject or the technology. You can see this with drones or with something even more serious like facebook and youtube technology and their influence on our elections. THERE NEEDS TO BE MORE "REGULATIONS/job requirements. to become a person that is in charge of our lives.

That being said.... if you own a drone, don't be stupid. Everyone should get certified. It's fun and you learn a great deal about airports and air space... even learn about how dangerous our batteries are .. Im using Gold Seal. you can also make money flying your drone!
