I can see that being an issue. Best thing would be for the drone to go RTH then then could run it back to the perpetrator.

On the down side, how long before that technology is out there and Google drones get intercepted with their goodies onboard? There will be Sky Pirates now instead of Porch Pirates.

In the US, it's against the law for anyone other than a government official to have drone jamming tech.
Anyone caught with something like that would be in a world of trouble.

Yes. But this thread is specifically about law enforcement's ability to disable the drone of an assassin or other terrorist. The FCC rules don't apply to many government entities and certainly not in Isreal.

Within the US the FCC prohibits general public and commercial entities from intentionally interfering with bandwidth in a described range. It's unlawful to operate, sell or distribute a jammer. If you have one in your possession they can only seize it but you will have a lot of questions to answer.

Now drone jamming equipment is becoming commercially available the FCC is granting waivers to private security firms to operate the equipment under the direction of law enforcement. Sporting events, prisons and major airports have already had trial runs. For one example Google "DJI Aeroscope" - it's already in use with the proper licensing
