A new way to launch satellites was recently introduced. The largest drone in the world will be used to launch satellites into orbit.
Private company Aevum has created a huge drone to launch small spacecraft. The developers call it the world's largest drone. The aircraft was named Ravn X.
The company says the payload can be sent as early as 3 hours after it arrives at the launch site. Also, the company has already signed its first contract with NASA.

But back in 2019, NASA tested the X-37B. Then this drone set the record for the longest stay in space. The wording of the test objectives was rather vague. But it is clear that many space missions will now depend on drones in one way or another.
It is curious what was tested on the X-37B for 780 days.

Ha. One lonely astronaut. Why test him? I think all astronauts are lonely. If so many drones are going to fly in space, then we need a whole space tug company. Because sooner or later they will lose contact with the satellite and will fly there as space debris.

Talking UAVs here, but drones are also very much used in defense for many years, and still always developing very fast there.
Defense use also includes destructive aspects as in weaponising drones, from crudely made devices through to any level using the highest technology available.

I'm curious about your comments below in quotation marks . . .

What must be (arguably) the biggest UAV drone sector on the planet is hobby / recreational use . . . amateur photography, videography, or just flying drones / quads / FPV etc for fun.

Of course commercial users will 'only use a drone when they need to", and hobbyist pilots will use their drones when they "feel like it" ?
