I posted this over at the Mavic Pilots site but it applies to Spark owners as well. Embry Riddle Aviation University hosts MOOCs (Massive Open Online Course) from time to time and they are hosting one on safe drone operation starting January 22nd through February 4th. It is free of charge, but they suggest that you devote at least 8 hours over the two week period to thoroughly comprehend all the material presented. Here is a copy/paste of the course description:
From Jan. 22 to Feb. 4, Embry-Riddle Worldwide will offer a free, two-week course on drone operation.
Titled Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS): Key Concepts for New Users, this course explains everything new users need to know to safely operate their drones.
Participants will learn about equipment, airspace, legal requirements, and flight planning tools, as well as how to step up to the next level and become commercial drone operators.
Course instructors include both full-time Embry-Riddle faculty members, as well as experts from the unmanned aircraft systems industry. Registration for the sUAS MOOC begins Dec. 11.
