Howdy!

I have been lurking here for a while and finally got my Spark for Christmas. Up here in Ontario (just east of Toronto) it has been miserably cold and after bouncing it off the walls indoors a few times (yeah blade guards!) I finally said enough and took it outside for a short but chilly flight. She handled ok even in the gusty wind but what I can’t figure out is why the video recording turns itself off. It did this a few times indoors and I thought I must have touched the screen and accidently turned off the recording. Today I was using the remote and my ipad and only touched the screen to initiate recording but it stopped recording at just over a minute. Any ideas?

That would have been my first thought as well but it has a freshly formated 16 gig card in it. It just stopped recording on its own.

Does anyone know if there is a setting for changing from onboard memory storage to memory card?

I dont have an answer for that but I just wanted to throw this at you . I did the same thing as you finally took it outside in New Brunswick also very cold and a little windy and after a successful first flight I put it up an hour later and about 2 minutes in and about 60 feet up it took off like it was on a mission and I had zero response from controller and it crashed into tree. Now i am waiting for it to get to California for replacement or repair. At least the tree stopped it from flying away and I had something to send in for trade. Now I am nervous to fly in the cold as I think it may have had an effect on it. So I would keep it low and close if I were you. Have fun!

It should automatically record to the micro SD.
Have you formatted the card from go4?

There is a button on the front left side of the remote that will initiate and stop recording. Is it possible you touched this button inadvertently?

I solved it! My Spark didn’t come with a memory card so I used a 16 gig micro SD card that I had on hand. The card I was using was older and I guess it was not fast enough to keep up with the data that was being sent to it. I replaced the card with a Sandisk Extreme today and I now have no problem recording 10+ minutes of video.
