G’day everyone,
New member here.
I stumbled onto this site while I was searching for batteries for my Spark…..that I didn’t have to sell my first born for……
Looks like a lot of helpful info, thanks to all for your contributions.
I haven’t done much flying with my Spark. I bought it years ago but spent a lot of time in and out of hospital. And other things got in the way.
When I did get around to trying to fly, I found that my app was on an old phone and couldn’t find a download for Spark… I’m 65 and not very tech savvy. I’ve since found the app. But not before signing up to some dodgy site that was charging me money.
Anyway, I saw an ad for an Avata 2 and I was amazed. It looked so easy to fly and captured great footage and for anyone who loves planes but can’t afford pilots licenses etc, it looked like it was like being in an aircraft.
I live in Australia and we tend to get ripped off for everything. So it didn’t come as a surprise that when I enquired at a Sydney DJI retailer, he said it didn’t come with the carry bag nor the triple battery charger.
I went on to the international DJI site and was pleasantly surprised to find that it was available to Aussie’s for the correct price, with everything included. I bought the 65watt charger with it, it charges everything so quickly!
Let me just say, I wish the Avata 2 had been available before I bought my Spark. It is amazing! And a 2 year old could fly it! It is sooooo easy! I haven’t taken any footage with it yet (I’m in a restricted flight area). But I hope I can post something worthwhile one day. If anyone is trying to decide about an FPV drone, just get it, you’ll love it!
Anyway, back to my Spark! I figured I might as well resurrect it and decided to get a spare battery. I googled it and went onto eBay and was shocked! Some people were charging $200+ dollars!!!
I went onto the official DJI Website and sent a question of why Spark’s were obsolete, why they were sold to us but mothballed and forgotten. The lovely person (Chie) was sooooo helpful, she (?) got in touch with the tech people and sales people. I was delighted when she told me they could actually supply me with a new battery AND it was only AU$79 with free postage!
Thanks for reading if you’ve gotten this far.
