Is Airplane Mode not an option for anyone else? (Android)

My Spark with RC will not let me hit the 'Go Fly' button within the app unless I enable Airplane Mode. While I generally would keep it enabled anyway for peace of mind, it seems kind of contradictory if I ever wish to stream to Facebook Live. Does anyone know if this a bug or intended functionality?

not the case for me ,.... but like u said I left mine one with data and stuff and was getting text throughout flight and it made a difference,

so it will be staying off from now on haha
