I haven't flown my spark in about a year. Took it out the other day and after remembering everything, I was able to fire it up and the only thing it would do was launch from the auto - take off feature and it just sat there hovering. I could not get any altitude change or move in any direction. The only thing it would let me do was auto land. I do live in the flight path of landing aircraft at a local airport. The only change I think they made was they are now entertaining full size jets. Have the rules changed and I can't fly as I am in a no fly zone? Any way around it if that is the case? I plan on taking it about 10 plus miles away and then try it but figured I would reach out to knowledgeable people first. Thanks in advance.

Well I tried using the joysticks right on my phone and that worked. So it is not a lockout situation etc. thank God. I then linked the controller to the Spark and now I don't see the spark listed in my Wi-Fi list. It was there before - actually 2 were there and only one worked. Thats where I am now. Still wont fly using the controller/phone to the Spark. Great.

Thanks for posting! I’m about to begin to try using my Spark again now that better weather has arrived in Maine. Hope you sort out the tech issue with your Spark. More knowledgeable folks on the way?

I charged the four OEM batteries that I have and all went well. Connection to Crystal Sky was normal and Spark flew well. I noticed that the video feed was grainy at times, compared to what I see when flying Mavic 2 Pro. This may be due to the WiFi based feed (if that’s what it is), rather than sensor size. The video looks fine on a computer screen.

The Spark still has its uses and is quite rugged as it doesn’t fold. I hope others agree and keep using theirs. Please share any thoughts on this model. This forum was a great resource when I got my first drone, and needs a revival!

Weather in Maine is still cold and damp. Better days ahead!
