Special thanks to Vader01 for posting his photo from Florida yesterday.

Since he threw the moon my way, I thought I'd catch it this morning and start the day with it.

This was taken around 5am this morning (7/4/20).

If anybody wants to post their July 4th activities today on this thread, please do so. :)

Happy Independence Day to the U.S. of A. ??

Well, after the moon set for the day, the sun decided to pop up and say hello.

I took the dogs for a walk and was prepared to mow the grass before it got too hot (expected 90 F plus).

But then I heard a train whistle that I don't hear very often due to the railway not in service anymore and decided, "Heck with the grass. Go Fly!"

The Nickle Plate Express was running short trips up and down whats left of the rail system.

End of the line. - Copy.jpg

Everyone seems to be enjoying the day so far. :)

Happy Independence Day to all! Hotter then a fire cracker here and flags flying everywhere. Just the way it should be on this day.
Fantastic pictures Spark 317, thanks for sharing and for starting this thread. Enjoy the day, neighbor.

as trains and track contributed greatly to the growth of both our countries.

Thanks for the compliment.

I miss the railroads in my area that use to be a productive distribution system back in the day of the grain mills.

But the farm land has gone the way of million dollar homes and the rails are now trails.

Hoo boy, it is warm today.

I just got back from watching a parade.

It's one thing to watch a parade (under a shade tree), but it's different if you're walking the parade route as a participant on the hot asphalt.

Whew! ?

The flag was flying just fine though. :)

Great captures Spark 317, that last one is amazing! ? ?

Thanks.

It looks like the planet Jupiter also came out to hang with the moon.

And if you squint your eyes, Saturn is to the left of Jupiter.

I always did like the night sky, at least what I can see of it due to light pollution from the area.
