problems with tripod mode

My spark will not stay in tripod mode. When i activate tripod mode the spark moves slowly and smoothly but only for about 25seconds and then it switches back to normal mode and starts flying faster.

Any one have any experience with this

This mode can only be used when lighting conditions are good and the drone has a strong GPS signal.
