is video available after a face recognition, palm launch?

If so, any tips on accessing the start video icon once in the air?

I only ask as one flight yesterday, I palm launched and then saw that I only had stills icon available throughout the flight???

I've had some luck with gesture control and it's fun but sometimes you have to wonder..what the ....
The manual covers it fully..and that not a bad video..
