Prior to visiting Giant Rock I had a chance to visit the Andrew Roger's massive geoglyph just north of Yucca Valley. This was the first flight of mine that required ATC notification as the geoglyph is just inside of the 5 mile radius of the Yucca Valley airport. The call took less than 30 seconds to make and I only had to mention the geoglyph and nearest cross street for the ATC to know exactly where I was flying.
