Looking through the status menu many functions say "normal" in compass calibration it says calibrate and normal, if it says calibrate there is that just an option to calibrate if you want to or is that telling you need to calibrate?

Looking through the status menu many functions say "normal" in compass calibration it says calibrate and normal, if it says calibrate there is that just an option to calibrate if you want to or is that telling you need to calibrate?

It's not telling you to calibrate -- it's what you tick when you are told to calibrate. You will get a warning separate from that status.
