So I got my first chance to travel with my spark packed it up and off to the airport and right to TSA. TSA never even blinked as my drone went through scanners. Just took the drone and batteries and put them into a luggage bin and by the time I got through the body scannner the drone had already passed with not as much as a blink from TSA. Spark is great to travel with fits in backpack with my laptop and lots of spark accessories. Was able to get some great pics for some commercial projects I work on and trying to show that the spark can handle it.

I've been traveling alot with my Spark lately. My experience is the same as yours. Although I don't remove the Spark or batteries from my backpack, it goes through TSA and scanners with no issues what-so-ever.

I will say that I make sure the batteries have no more than two lights on meaning they are below 50% capacity and I carry a printed copy of the battery specs to show they are well within the guidelines for taking batteries on planes (I also have it book marked on my phone).

I was going to take my Mavic but add in batteries, mounts, and the accessories I like to have, it takes up alot of space in the backpack. Not so with the Spark....

Heading to the Dominican Republic from Philly in a couple weeks for my first trip with the Spark. Very reassuring reading your posts about the ease of getting through security - thanks! ....gonna be fun with TSA this time anyway - will have an engagement ring in my carry-on, and am going to attempt to discreetly hold up an index card for them to read "ENGAGEMENT RING IN BACK PACK! PLEASE INSPECT PRIVATELY IF NECESSARY!!" (she'll be behind me and has no idea it's coming, lol). Will update if they inspect/find Spark in the same bag and say anything about it.

So on my return trip TSA pulled my bag aside for what I thought had to do with seeing all the wires/batteries for my drone come to find they flagged my bag due to the controller/phone mount? TSA agent pulled it from my bag asked me what is was and when I explained his response “wow way cool” and he put in back and sent me on my way. So traveling with my drone for commercial use was a breeze, now only been doing it in the US but seems easier than getting my company laptop through TSA, go figure

Just got back from a trip out to BC (British Columbia, Canada). Packed the Spark, Charging Station, and Controller in the Charging Station bag plus a 4th battery and Polar Pro filters. As well, I had my full frame DSLR with battery grip plus two big lenses (14-24, 28-300), external 2.5 inch hard drive and memory card holder and my 13 inch MacBook and it's charger ALL in a LowePro Transit Backpack 350. We did a combination of hotels and car/tent camping and lots of hiking on trails (some pretty rugged). I carried this setup daily and although the bag was heavy I never had a problem.

The Spark with the charging station/bag setup was amazing. I was able to launch and fly my Spark anywhere I was. In many spots, I was not in the area for a long period of time so being able to take out the Spark, launch, fly, change batteries then pack up and have batteries charge while heading to the next spot was so amazingly convenient and because the 'Spark Package' is so small I was able to have my DSLR and lenses with me all the time as well.

In some of the spots I was, it was quite windy (got a few wind warnings) but I still was able to launch take some photos or video and then land (hand catch). I always kept the Spark within visual line of site and close by especially in the windy spots. The Spark was amazingly stable in the windy locations. I took mostly photos (lots of spherical panos and 180º panos) and some video.

The Spark is an amazing travel drone!!
