USPS Priority shipping question

Just want some clarification on how it's done.
I want to send out some controllers, that have lipo batteries in them. If I read it right this is OK, because the batteries are inserted in the item it was made for. On the other hand, if I just try to send batteries, say Phantom 3 batteries, they would need to go in a different shipping method since they are not inserted in the drone?

I have received batteries in both of the circumstances you described directly from DJI. The only thing they did was place warning stickers on the outside of box. I save these boxes for reshipping because I don't know where to get these stickers quickly.

I attached an printable image of the warning sticker below.

If the battery is rechargable and behind a set of screws they don't remove it. It is readily detachable like the drone battery it should be removed from the aircraft during shipping
