I Seem to remember that the warning that you are flying in a restricted area used to be able to just click OK, and not need to have a network connection, am I wrong?

Yes you can but I think it depends on what type of airspace you're in. Also i dont fly in the US but i think there's more restrictions there too, the drone is "smarter" there.
